The Sayings of Jesus (extended video)

Below is the video for the extended children’s talk that includes a work time together.

Maxims are short sayings mostly from Jesus that help us love God and love our neighbour thus fulfilling the Summary of the Law. Today’s focus is on two maxims:

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you. John 13:34

Do to others, as you would have them do to you. Matthew 7:12a

For today’s work, help your child look up the above maxims and read them together. Then wonder together-"What words did you hear?” “What does Jesus invite us to do?” “What if we lived in a place where everyone did these things?” .

Choose a border template and the Letter D and I templates to print so your child can write the scriptures. (See video thumbnail image as an example) All children, especially younger children, might choose to draw a personal repsonse to these scriptures.
